Middle East
Saudi Arabia is a nation filled with surprises. Even the smallest cities here, have a galore of attractions and activities to do. Dammam is one such destination that packs a powerful combination of attractions. Therefore, when in Dammam, you must indulge in the following things.
We recommend the Heritage Village as it provides a glimpse into the culture of Saudi Arabia. Home to a museum, souvenir store, and a delicious halal restaurant, you will be left mesmerized here.
Wander into this 5-story building to witness Najd with its warm gatherings, Aseer District with its fascinating nature, Al-Baha with its bright blue sky and Eastern Province with its magnificent decorations. A museum that houses collectibles ranging from daily utensils to unique Arabic jewelry provides you an insight into their lives. End your tour with most scrumptious Saudi dishes.
A historic castle located on top of a hill in the center of Tarout Island is a stunning archaeological landmark. The base on which the castle was built dates back to 5000 BC. The extensive amount of history associated with the castle and its ability to transmit you to the olden days is breath-taking. A person with a keen interest in history and in impressive structures should have this place on their list.
If you love the idea of sitting in quaint cafes with a cool sea-breeze blowing in your face, then Dammam Corniche is the place for you. Dammam Corniche is not only famous amongst people from the neighboring cities of Alkhobar, Dhahran, and Jubail but also amongst those from remote towns like Riyadh. Wandering in its manicured gardens, taking the exciting carnival rides, a cruise around Marjan Island are few of the activities available here. You can also indulge yourself in modern art installations peppered alongside the path. All-in-all Dammam Corniche is an ideal destination for downtime from your busy schedule.
A group of 4 coral islands, Al-Marjan Islands are splendid. A perfect getaway for family and friends alike, the islands hold every attraction, including green spaces, playgrounds, sitting areas, and hotels. You can also visit a dolphin village at the doorway of the island to view the magnificent dolphins. You can choose to stay over in one of the 5-star hotels of Al Marjan islands or take a sea ferryboat ride with a free meal.
King Fahad Park is the ultimate leisure place and the largest in all of the Eastern Province. Sprawling over 1120 million square meters, the park with hundreds of trees offers a place to relax with the entire family. With human-made lagoons, artificial lakes, fountains, pools, waterfalls, and a range of restaurants, there won’t be a shortage of activities in the park.
A pristine beach shaped precisely like a half-moon, which explains the name, is an ideal place for locals and tourists alike. You can also visit Alkhleej Makarim, a village renowned for its luxurious resorts in the whole of Saudi Arabia. Blessed with natural beauty, it attracts thousands of tourists from around the world. The sandy beach is a picture-perfect venue for a quiet dinner.
Located on a scenic seafront area, this museum is massive, to say the least. Through its exhibits housed in six halls, you will time travel back from the stone age to the present era. You can also find archaeology specialists in the museum who can explain and guide through the journey of the museum.
