The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, is one of the most renowned musical theaters in the United States. In 1892, Captain Thomas G. Ryman constructed a tabernacle, which he called the Union Gospel Tabernacle.

It is widely acknowledged as the origin of the Grand Ole Opry, the longest-running live country music radio broadcast. From 1943 to 1974, the Opry was held at the Ryman before relocating to its current location.
